Sexy, desirable, confident? Always got something clever to say? Fantastic dress sense, amazing job, tons of admirers? That woman you're always creepily stalking on Facebook, and then feeling bad about your sad, sad life afterwards?
Unfortunately for Melanie, she's the one sitting at home getting biscuit crumbs on the computer. Shit job, shit life, wrong side of 25 and not a lot to look forward to. That is, until her filthy rich hunk of a friend Fitzgerald enlists her help to dupe his repressed parents into thinking they are a couple, and spend a week at their mansion in the country to prove it.
Sometimes in life, it doesn't matter if your pretend fiance is quite obviously gay and is never, ever going to suddenly find you attractive. This is Melanie's chance to live the Jane Austen novel for real, and nothing - not even being a reasonable, decent human being - is going to stop her.
